Equipment to be used are: Ebakl (this is a traditional tool for the Pacific carvers), Traditional rope (this is made by coconut husks which I make myself), lastly is wood which depends on the size of the canoe that is being carved.

I have been a carver for over 30 years and have been a master carver for over 20 years. I create wood designs such as functional traditional canoes for traveling over open water. I went to Taitung to repair canoes for the Prehistory Museum about 2 years ago. Also, I have made canoes for the southern state of Sonsorol which is not part of the main reef which means the canoes have to be made to travel safely in open waters. I have also made items that were brought to the Festival of the Pacific Arts in Hawaii.
